Effective August 8, 2026
Churchana is operated by Ferris Technologies LLC. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored as a one-way hash).
Profile information — phone number, street address, birthday, and profile picture, if you choose to provide them.
Church membership data — the churches you belong to, your role, and group memberships.
Giving records — donation amounts, dates, and fund designations. Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
Activity data — direct messages between members, group chat messages, volunteer signups, meal ministry signups, and event RSVPs.
Technical data — session tokens stored in cookies, and IP addresses used temporarily for abuse prevention (rate limiting).
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
Stripe — processes all payment card transactions. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
Resend — delivers transactional emails on our behalf.
Upstash — stores temporary rate-limiting counters keyed to IP addresses. No personal data beyond IP is stored, and counters expire automatically.
Direct messages and group chat messages sent through Churchana are stored in plaintext on our servers. They are not end-to-end encrypted.
Ferris Technologies LLC, as the operator of Churchana, has the technical ability to access stored message content as part of operating, maintaining, and supporting the platform. We do not routinely read member messages, but we may access them when necessary to investigate abuse, respond to legal process, or resolve technical issues.
Church administrators do not have access to private direct messages between members through the Churchana interface. Group chat messages are visible to group members only.
We retain your account and church data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Giving records are retained for seven years to support tax documentation requirements. You may request deletion of your account at any time using the form below.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights. To make a request, use the form below.
We use a single session cookie (churchana_session) strictly to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of Churchana after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Use this form to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. We'll respond within 30 days.
